In a remote corner of Nicaragua, young naturalists spent three weeks learning about arthropods and vertebrates, understanding their relationships with the environment, other species, and humans. Fascinating topics such as crypsis, ecological relationships, scientific nomenclature, the scientific method applied through hands-on experiments, food chains, and other engaging subjects were part of the naturalist course designed and implemented by The Naturalism School in various parts of the world.
This group of young people from Rancho Grande community, with the support of Equinox Gold, are making an invaluable contribution to the global scientific community, reporting over 5,700 organisms and identifying more than 1,500 species. This has been a unique and life-changing experience. The planet and all its biodiversity celebrate this great achievement today and will continue to surprise us with more discoveries in the intricate web of life on Earth. Congratulations to this amazing team of 37 naturalists!
